The curse

You’ve looked into my eyes for a brief,
I’ve looked into yours for a decade.
We’ve gotten cursed together,
but we never shared the burden.

You share the burden now,
I still bear it alone after that long time.
They carry your stone so you walk free,
I pull it behind me, reluctant to untie it.

I’ve grown to like the stone,
its chain burrying into my flesh keeping me sane.
A thought that you have the same stone,
gives me hope you will catch my sight again.
